To Kill A Mockingbird continues this week. My goal is to be through chapter 4, by Friday. After the first four chapters, the plot picks up, so hang in there!

Journalism: I'm so excited about our progress with the Waite Times! Our leadership staff consists of:

Editor: Josh Murphy
Co-Editor: Haley Stockman
Layout Editor: Mohammed Shaikh
Distributor: Taylor Goodan
Co-Distributor: Devonte Hughes

Congratulations to all who applied for these positions! You showed great initiative. Josh and Haley have given you your deadlines. You must meet them!

English II: OGT Review is underway! Please keep all of your materials!! Of Mice and Men will be a quick experience. We are going to be finished reading it between February 17-19th. Persuasive essays are coming soon, too!

Two More Days!!

I know you're all gearing up for the upcoming break; I am, too! I'd like to extend my gratitude for the ways you have helped to support Family 59. I'm proud of you! We are wrapping up Shakespeare soon! Whether you're a freshmen or a sophomore, you have almost made it through a Shakespeare play! Good for you.

Journalism students: Look for a project when we return from break! :)

Basketball players: I'm sorry I missed the game, last night. The first person to come into my classroom and tell me the score gets a little surprise!

I'll see you, Monday!

P.S. Kaleigh- it's updated! And, I'm winning!!

GREAT JOB ENGLISH I

Awesome, awesome job on your Act II tests, today! They are all graded and I have a record number of A's and B's, some C's no D's and two that didn't make it, if you know what I mean. Way to go!! *Those* are the tests I like to grade.

Keep it up. If you slack, so too will your grade.

Great Job!!

English I & II: As you're finishing your character and scene profiles, I am smiling! Nice job and very creative.

4th Hour: Do those bells ring *every* day?! hahaha.

Journalism: No book needed for tomorrow. Newspaper Day!

Halfway to the Weekend! :)

English I: We are progressing nicely with Romeo and Juliet and we should have Act II read by tomorrow! An Act II test is planned for early next week. Act II study questions and your scene/character profile projects are due, by Friday.

We will be working with MLA citations and creating bibliographies, too. Remember to clean those cell phones. *wink*

English II: Julius Caesar study questions for Act I, scene 3 and Act II, scene 1 are due by the end of class, tomorrow. Your character/scene profile projects are due as well. You're doing a great job. Julius Caesar is difficult and you're keeping up! Hi Kaleigh! See?! I kept my promise. :)

Journalism: Chapter 4 will be quick, but will be work! We will finish outlining physical sources and will go into human sources. We will soon discuss a reporter's 'beat' and you'll be asked to propose an area/group in the school you'll be assigned to cover for your beat. Start thinking now.

***You lose points when you don't have your book, so bring it, daily!***

ALL: What is your favorite quote? Bring it to me and earn 5 points extra credit! It *may* appear on our blog, too. Remember to keep it appropriate. You are professionals.

See you soon!
